Public Profile Terms
Version 2026-05-26 · Effective immediately upon acceptance
These Public Profile Terms supplement, and are part of, the NannyKeeper Terms of Service. By publishing a public profile, you agree to both. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the main Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these terms and the main Terms of Service, the main Terms of Service control.
These terms describe the feature-specific rules for the public profile feature. They are not a standalone contract — the main Terms of Service govern your legal relationship with NannyKeeper, including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, arbitration, governing law, and termination.
1. Overview
The public profile feature lets you publish a profile page at a URL we provide (such as /n/your-code) that families can discover and share. You choose what to publish and can change, hide, or remove your profile at any time. The User-Generated Content section of the NannyKeeper Terms of Service governs ownership, licensing, and your representations about what you post (including the copyright policy and child-safety provisions, which apply in full to your profile).
2. What we display
We display the fields you choose to publish — display name, city and state, photograph (after moderation), biography, services, rates, certifications, languages, availability, attributes, and related items. You control visibility of each field independently.
We also display trust signals computed from your platform activity: how long you've been on NannyKeeper, whether you currently receive direct deposit through us, the number of families you've worked with through our payroll system, your platform-history duration, your most recent payroll, and your recent activity. These signals are factual statements derived from your actual platform usage. We do not verify your background, employment eligibility, references, or fitness for childcare, and we make no representation or warranty that you are suitable for any particular family or role.
3. What this feature is not
- We are not a placement, employment, or referral agency. We do not match or assign families to you, and we do not collect a placement fee from families for hiring you.
- We do not perform background checks, verify employment eligibility, contact references, or mediate hiring disputes. Families are responsible for their own due diligence.
- We do not arbitrate hours worked between you and any employer. Your time tracking through NannyKeeper is your personal record. Employers run their own payroll based on the hours they decide on, and any disagreement about hours is between you and the employer.
4. Auto-deactivation
To prevent stale profiles, a published profile that has no platform activity (sign-in, payroll receipt, time-tracking entry, or profile edit) for 90 consecutive days will be moved to a "muted" state, where it remains visible but with reduced trust signals and a notice to inquiring families. After 180 days of inactivity, the profile auto-unpublishes and returns to draft. You can republish at any time, and any platform activity resets the clock. We may modify these day counts and behaviors as operational policy on notice via the Service.
You may "snooze" your profile for an explicit period (for example, during parental leave). A snoozed profile is not publicly visible and is exempt from auto-deactivation until the snooze period ends.
5. Contact and inquiries
Families contact you through a form on your profile page. We relay their message to your NannyKeeper email address and set the reply headers so your reply goes directly to the family. Your contact information is not exposed to families unless you choose to share it in your reply.
Inquiry message bodies are encrypted at rest and retained for 30 days, then purged. Inquiry metadata (sender email, IP-derived identifiers, timestamps, your moderation actions) is retained for 90 days to support spam detection and abuse reporting. You can mark any inquiry as spam, which contributes to our blocklists.
6. Photo policy
Every photograph is manually reviewed before being displayed. Photographs must be a clear image of you, suitable for a professional context. In addition to the photograph representations in the User-Generated Content section of the NannyKeeper Terms of Service, you agree not to upload photographs that include any minor children, logos, graphics or text overlaid on the image, or anything obviously inappropriate. If any other identifiable adult appears in the image, you must have their consent. We may remove an approved photograph at any time if we receive a credible report about it or otherwise believe removal is warranted.
7. Referral rewards
If a family signs up for NannyKeeper through your public profile and completes paid subscription onboarding, you may be eligible for a referral reward (currently a $25 Amazon gift card) under our nanny referral program. The reward is held for approximately seven days after the family subscribes to absorb early refunds and chargebacks, then fires automatically subject to anti-fraud checks. We track cumulative referral earnings per calendar year and will issue applicable tax documents (e.g., Form 1099-NEC) if you receive $600 or more in a year. We may modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time.
8. Moderation and removal
In addition to NannyKeeper's removal rights described in the User-Generated Content section of the main Terms of Service, we may at our sole discretion force-unpublish or modify any profile in response to credible reports of impersonation, fraud, harassment, or terms violations. If we force-unpublish your profile we will, where reasonable, notify you of the reason and allow you to respond. Force-unpublish does not entitle you to any refund or compensation.
To report a profile, an inquiry, or any other content or conduct on the Service, contact safety@nannykeeper.com. To report copyright infringement, follow the procedure in the Copyright Policy and DMCA section of the main Terms of Service.
9. Account requirements
To publish a public profile you must have an active NannyKeeper nanny account in good standing, satisfy the publish-gate criteria shown in the profile editor (minimum required fields completed and a minimum overall completeness score), and accept these terms.
10. Right to delete
You can unpublish your profile at any time from the editor. You can also request complete deletion of your public profile data by contacting support; we will process the request within a reasonable time. We will retain payroll, tax-related records, and audit logs separately as required by federal and state law, and retain backups and derivative works subject to the license described in the User-Generated Content section of the main Terms of Service.
11. Changes
We may update these Public Profile Terms. Material changes (anything affecting what we display, how we retain data, or your rights) will be re-presented for your acceptance before they take effect on your profile. Non-material updates (such as operational threshold changes) take effect on posting.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms or your profile? Reply to any NannyKeeper email or contact us at hello@nannykeeper.com.
