Five steps, start to finish

Most families are up and running in under 15 minutes.

  1. 1

Sign up and get your EIN

Create your account. Apply for an Employer ID Number at IRS.gov (free, instant) or let us handle it on the Plus annual plan.

  2. 2

Add your nanny and set their pay

Enter their info and hourly rate. We auto-configure federal, state, and local tax withholding for your location.

  3. 3

    Run payroll each pay period

Enter hours, review the tax breakdown, click approve. Direct deposit available. The whole thing takes about two minutes.

  4. 4

We remind you about quarterly taxes

Before each IRS deadline, we email you the exact amount to pay and how to submit it via IRS Direct Pay.

  5. 5

    Download W-2s and file year-end

We generate W-2s and Schedule H automatically. Give your nanny their copy by January 31, then file Schedule H with your 1040.

A fair question

Is NannyKeeper for real?

Short answer: yes. Here's how to check.

We never touch your tax money

NannyKeeper calculates what you owe and tells you exactly when and how to pay it. Your federal and state tax payments go directly from your bank to the IRS and your state via their own portals — never through us. The only money you ever send NannyKeeper is your subscription.

A real company, run by a real person

NannyKeeper is a Delaware C-Corp incorporated through Stripe Atlas, built by a software engineer who hired his own nanny and couldn't believe how expensive and outdated the existing payroll services were.

Real customers, in their own words

“NannyKeeper has been a Godsend! It clearly laid out everything I had to process and complete and it did it in a way that eased all the anxiety I had starting this up.”

Your Social Security number (to get an EIN), your nanny's Social Security number and address, and their desired pay rate. That's it.
