Autopilot is automatic nanny payroll from NannyKeeper. It builds, approves and sends your nanny's payroll on your usual schedule, taxes and all, the same way you run it now. The only thing that changes is that nobody has to remember.

Step 1
From the standard hours you set. A salaried nanny needs nothing at all.
Step 2
Federal and state income tax, Social Security, Medicare and unemployment, figured exactly as they are when you press Run payroll yourself.
Step 3
The amount, the pay date and the day the transfer starts. Skip that week or change the hours from the link in the email.
Step 4
Started early enough to land on payday. Your nanny gets the usual pay stub, on the usual day.
Your quarterly figures and year-end W-2 come out the same as they would by hand. And as always, NannyKeeper prepares your tax documents and tells you what to pay and when. The filing stays yours, as IRS Publication 926 reminds every household employer.
The first payroll Autopilot prepares is held until you approve it, so a wrong hours number gets caught before any money moves. After that, a payday that comes out different from what you expected is held too, and you get an email. If your bank returns a payment, Autopilot pauses and nothing is retried until you say so.
Your nanny is away for a week? Skip it from the Autopilot page, one week or several. Need to pay a bonus or extra hours? Run that week yourself and Autopilot steps aside for it. Pause or turn Autopilot off whenever you like. Your records stay put.
Two things have to be true before the switch appears.
Autopilot pays by direct deposit, so this is the first step after you sign up. Your bank and your nanny's both need to be connected.
Three payrolls in a row, two if salaried. Autopilot pays the same standard hours every period, so if hours change week to week, running each payroll from logged hours is the better tool.
Autopilot is included with Plus and Pro. Plus is $18 a month, or $180 a year.
Each automatic payroll carries the same direct deposit fee as one you send yourself, $6 on Plus, so Autopilot itself adds nothing on top of Plus.
Direct deposit is $6 per transfer, plus 0.8% on amounts over $1,000.
