How NannyKeeper earns your family's trust
You hand us your nanny's Social Security number, your EIN and your bank details. This page says what we protect, what we never ask you for, and what kind of company NannyKeeper is.

What we protect
We encrypt your nanny's SSN, your EIN and your nanny's bank account number before we save them, and no other household can see your records. Each line below is true of every account today.
SSNs, EINs and bank account numbers are encrypted
We encrypt each one on its own with AES-256 before we save it, so none of them is stored as plain text.
The W-2s, Schedule H forms and pay stubs we make for you are encrypted
We encrypt each one before we save it, and our database refuses to store one that isn't encrypted.
Other households can't see your records
We check every request against the household that owns the data, in the app and in our API.
Every connection is encrypted
Every page loads over HTTPS, and other websites can't place your account pages inside their own.
Two-factor sign-in
You can turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app in Settings, then Security. Everyone who can open our admin tools has to use it.
We log our own team's access
When someone on our team views a full SSN or EIN, or downloads one of your documents, in our admin tools, we record it.
What we never
ask you for
We do the math in front of you, and you keep your own accounts. So there is a short list of things we never need from you.
Every company that handles your data is listed in our privacy policy, along with how we use your information.
No power of attorney
You never sign a power of attorney or an IRS Form 8821 for us, and we never hold the logins to your tax accounts. If you use our EIN service, we're named on your Form SS-4 as the IRS third-party designee, and that ends once the IRS assigns your EIN and sends it to us.
You can start payroll before you have the SSN
You can run payroll while you wait for your nanny's Social Security number. Ask your nanny for it by the first payday, and we'll need it before we make the W-2.
No SSNs in analytics or ads
Our analytics never receive an SSN, EIN or bank number. Ad platforms never get your email in plain text. Session recordings never capture what you type, and once you leave our public pages they hide all text on screen.
We never sell your data
We don't sell your personal information to anyone.
